Drooping Eyebrows? Let’s Explore Some Treatment Options!

Woman with beautiful eyebrows close up For the most part, drooping eyebrows are an age-related condition. This means that we have options for correcting the appearance of this area of the face should that be desired. You may have mild ptosis, or sagging, that is causing your eyebrows to sit a little low across the orbital rim above your eyes. You may have this happening only to one eyebrow (this is very common). Regardless of how low your eyebrows have sunk, you can take action. Dr. Farris proudly serves our Dallas area patients with attentive, thoughtful care. After a thorough consultation and examination of your skin and muscle tissue, he can provide you with the information you need to move forward in the way that is best for you. That may include surgery or something much more conservative.

Injectable Brow Lift Treatment

Depending on the extent of lift you would like to achieve, you may turn to injectable treatments to correct drooping eyebrows. We routinely use both Botox and Dysport for descending brows and dynamic wrinkles. Botox and Dysport are neuromodulators. They work on your muscles that have tightened over time and are pulling on the skin. Injectable treatment may be preferred as a first-line treatment for mild to moderate brow ptosis. It may be used even if you have more significant descent of your brows but simply want to treat the condition without surgery. An injectable brow lift is performed in our office in just a few minutes. We use a tiny needle, so you won’t need any type of anesthetic. Because neuromodulators work on the muscle, you can expect your results to build over 5 to 7 days. Once you see the subtle lift of your brows, you can enjoy the effect for three to six months.

Brow Lift Surgery

Having brow lift surgery may feel like a paramount decision. It is in that you can achieve remarkable results. It is also a big decision because it involves finding the right plastic surgeon. Dr. Farris is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the American Board of Surgery, and is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Before opening his private practice here in Dallas, he dedicated years to teaching other physicians the intricacies of plastic surgery procedures. Dr. Farris has considerable experience performing coronal brow lifts as well as endoscopic brow lifts. He spends approximately one hour with each patient to determine needs, desired outcome, and the most appropriate surgical approach to meet those. If you have significant brow ptosis or you want long-term improvements from your brow lift treatment, a surgical brow lift may be ideal for you.
