Double Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon in Dallas, TX
After experiencing the joy and fulfillment of childbirth, you have the opportunity to get your pre-baby body back! A mommy makeover is a set of procedures performed to address some of the changes to the body that occur after childbirth. Usually, it includes a breast lift with or without breast implants to address saggy, deflated breasts and a tummy tuck to eliminate the loose skin of the abdomen. The mommy makeover may also include liposuction to remove stubborn pockets of fat, an arm lift to address excess skin of the arms or even a labiaplasty to reduce the size of the labia minora. There is no set mommy makeover grouping – you may choose whichever combination of procedures that would address your specific needs.
Who is a candidate for a mommy makeover?
Good candidates include healthy nonsmokers who have completed childbearing and usually have saggy breasts, stretched-out loose skin of the abdomen and arms, or enlarged labia minora (the flaps of skin on either side of the vaginal opening). These conditions typically do not improve with diet, exercise or creams. Get your pre-baby body back with a Mommy Makeover!

What to expect after surgery?
Dr. Farris and his staff at Farris Plastic Surgery will provide specific instructions regarding your surgery. This largely depends on which combination of procedures you undergo. It may involve drain care and wearing a compression garment. Absorbable stitches are placed underneath the skin during surgery so there are no stitches to remove in the office. You will be asked to refrain from strenuous activity and exercise for about 4 weeks. Avoid prolonged exposure of the scars to sunlight for several months and use sunscreen as necessary. You may use vitamin E cream and scar products beginning 3 weeks after surgery to optimize healing of your scars. Scars change in appearance and improve over time up to 12 months.
