What are facial fillers?
Injectable fillers are a non-surgical treatment used to soften wrinkle lines and creases and add volume to shallow contours, resulting in a rejuvenated youthful appearance. Common areas that are injected include areas on the face, around the eyes, lips, jawline, forehead, temples, neck and hands. There is minimal recovery time. An ice pack is used to reduce swelling after injection. There are several different categories of fillers. The length of the results will last depending on what filler is used. Fillers can also be use in conjunction with Botox or Dysport for an added effect for rejuvenation.
What is Restylane?
Restylane® is composed of hyaluronic acid, which helps to soften the lines and wrinkles of the lower face. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance produced by the skin that keeps our skin soft and elastic. With increasing age, production of this substance declines, resulting in wrinkles and loss of volume. Restylane temporarily replenishes the supply of hyaluronic acid in the targeted area, improving wrinkle and folds. Areas that are commonly treated include nasolabial folds (laugh lines), marionette lines (vertical lines extending down from the corners of the mouth), small vertical lines above the upper lip and corners of the mouth. Results last about 9 months.
Restylane® Silk is also a hyaluronic acid filler, but with smaller particles and designed specifically to enhance the lips. If you feel like your lips are thin and would like more fullness, Restylane Silk can provide volume and achieve a natural-looking pout. Restylane® Silk can also help to correct perioral lines. Results last about 6 months.
Restylane® Lyft is an injectable hyaluronic acid gel designed to add fullness to the cheeks and midface. It is typically injected into deeper facial tissue with results lasting about 12 months.
Restylane® Refyne is a specifically formulated hyaluronic acid dermal filler made with XpresHAn Technology™ that helps correct moderate facial wrinkles and folds, such as smile lines. Restylane® Defyne has a similar technology and is used for wrinkles and folds that are slightly deeper. The unique cross-linking of these fillers is also designed to help support your natural expression—for real-life results that help maintain natural movement when you’re smiling, frowning and even puckering up. Results last about 12 months.

Juvederm Voluma injection to the cheeks and Juvederm Volbella to the lips Before & After
What is Juvederm?
Juvederm is another hyaluronic acid filler. What sets it apart is the smoother texture of the injected gel and patented cross-linking of molecules.
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC injectable gel is for deep injection in the cheek area to correct age-related volume loss and to provide more cheek projection. Results last about 2 years.
JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC and JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC (larger particle size) injectable gels are used primarily for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC may also be used for lip augmentation. Results last about 1 year.
JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC injectable gel is used for correction of perioral lines (smoker’s lines) and lip augmentation with results lasting about 1 year.
JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC injectable gel also softens moderate to severe facial lines and wrinkles but is slightly longer lasting – 18 months.
Radiesse is a filler comprised of calcium hydroxyapatite microspheres suspended in a gel. It provides an immediate volume effect once injected but also stimulates the body to produce collagen. Over time, the gel and microspheres are absorbed by the body, leaving behind your own natural collagen. Radiesse is used for moderate to severe facial wrinkles or folds, such as nasolabial folds. It’s also used to correct volume loss at the back of the hands. Results last about 1 year.
What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is an injectable that contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). It stimulates collagen production by providing a support structure for collagen to grow. Results appear gradually and patients typically require a series of 3 injections over the course of 3-4 months. Over time, the poly-L-lactic acid is metabolized by the body, leaving behind the naturally occurring collagen. Treatment areas include hollow areas of the cheek and temples, jawline, chin wrinkles, nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Results last about 2 years.
